Ilorin, Nigeria – February 6, 2025 – Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthropic Home, in partnership with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), is proud to announce the official commissioning of the Orphan Support Project in Kwara State, Nigeria — a life-changing initiative designed to transform the lives of 950 orphaned and vulnerable children through holistic, long-term support.
The project, launched today in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, was attended by high-level dignitaries including representatives of KSrelief, government officials, religious and traditional leaders, and key stakeholders in child welfare. This marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to care for the most vulnerable members of society and build resilient, empowered communities.
The Orphan Support Project is designed to go beyond short-term relief by addressing the core developmental needs of orphaned children. The program is structured around five pillars:
Education Support: Payment of school fees and distribution of school supplies, uniforms, and learning materials to promote uninterrupted access to quality education.
Healthcare Access: Provision of regular medical check-ups, immunizations, and emergency care through partner healthcare facilities.
Nutritional Assistance: Delivery of food items and nutrition monitoring to support healthy growth and development.
Psychosocial Support: Counseling services, peer group mentorship, and emotional well-being sessions for improved mental health and social integration.
Vocational Skills Training: Training in tailoring, carpentry, catering, ICT, and other trades for older children to support economic independence and livelihood sustainability.
This initiative builds on years of collaboration between KSrelief and Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthropic Home in delivering impactful humanitarian programs across Nigeria. The support of KSrelief, a global leader in international aid based in Saudi Arabia, reflects a shared vision to invest in the future of disadvantaged children and promote dignity, hope, and opportunity for all.
“Our goal is not only to provide immediate relief,” said Farid Abdulrazzaq Salman, Project Manager, “but to lay the foundation for a better future—one where these children can thrive, learn, grow, and become productive members of society. This project is a promise of love, support, and transformation.”
The Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Social Development and Women Affairs, the Ministry of Education, and various community institutions, continues to play a key role in the verification, monitoring, and implementation of this initiative. Their involvement ensures that this project aligns with state-level priorities and reaches those most in need.
As implementation begins, Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthropic Home remains committed to transparency, accountability, and measurable impact. Monthly monitoring reports, community feedback, and independent evaluations will be used to ensure the effective delivery of services and the long-term success of every child enrolled in the program.
This project is not just a humanitarian intervention — it is a declaration of shared humanity and a step toward building a society where no child is left behind.
