ASPH to Commence Drilling of 20 Solar-Powered Boreholes Across Nigeria

Access to clean and safe water remains one of the most urgent humanitarian needs in many vulnerable communities across Nigeria. In response to this critical challenge, Abibakr As-Siddiq Philanthropic Home (ASPH) is pleased to announce the commencement of a new water intervention project focused on the drilling of 20 medium-depth solar-powered boreholes in selected communities across the country, with the generous support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre (KSrelief).

For thousands of families—particularly women, children, and displaced persons—access to potable water remains limited or entirely absent. Many communities continue to depend on unsafe water sources, exposing residents to waterborne diseases and daily hardship. Through this project, ASPH will deliver sustainable, solar-powered water systems designed to provide reliable access to clean water throughout the year, even in off-grid and hard-to-reach areas.

The project will involve the drilling of 20 medium-depth boreholes, the installation of solar-powered pumping systems, the construction of water distribution points and supporting infrastructure, and strong community engagement to promote ownership, maintenance, and long-term sustainability. Implementation will be carried out in phases, with the first phase covering 70% of the facilities, allowing for rapid impact while maintaining high standards of quality, accountability, and technical compliance.

ASPH has completed all preparatory activities, including site assessments, community consultations, technical planning, and team mobilization. Our engineers, field officers, and monitoring teams are fully briefed and ready to commence work in strict accordance with KSrelief’s technical, environmental, and reporting standards. Local authorities and community leaders have also been engaged to ensure smooth implementation and sustained use of the water facilities.

ASPH expresses its deep appreciation to KSrelief for the continued trust and partnership in delivering life-saving humanitarian interventions in Nigeria. This project represents more than infrastructure; it is an investment in health, dignity, and resilience for vulnerable populations. Access to clean water improves public health, reduces the burden on women and children, supports livelihoods, and strengthens community stability. By Allah’s grace, this initiative will serve as a lasting source of sadaqah jariyah, benefiting communities for many years to come.

As implementation begins, ASPH remains committed to transparency, accountability, and timely reporting. Progress updates, field photographs, and impact stories will be shared throughout the project lifecycle. Together with our partners, we look forward to delivering clean water, restoring hope, and improving lives—one community at a time.

May Allah bless this effort and all those who support humanitarian service.
